whySo why I do what I do??

whatBy bringing a more feminine energy in businesses.

Building strong rapport with internal and external customers, and putting them in the middle of everything they do.

who am iOriginally from France, I have lived in Jersey since 2000. I worked at the St Brelade’s Bay Hotel for six years, opened The Royal Yacht Hotel after its £30m refurbishment, and then moved to L’Horizon Hotel in 2007.

After going through a divorce and house moved,  I had already made some big changes. So, I left my job at L’Horizon Hotel, and so began a new chapter of my life – it was the best thing I ever did! I capitalised on the experience gained in my 25 years hospitality career , and set up my own business in 2009 so I could be a successful women in business but also be a present mum for my two children.

Why the Queen BEE?

At first it was a bit of a joke, and I used to say my Mystery Shoppers were my worker bees, and I was in the hive dealing with the results, as the queen bee. But, I love the analogy of the queen bee leader and her harmonious groups of co-ordinated, efficient and productive bees that I decided to brand myself as The Busy Queen Bee.

Bees have been revered by past generations, who saw in the life of the hive virtues that were worthy of importing into our own society. From the early scribbling’s of cave dwellers, through to the creation stories of the Egyptians and Greeks, to the coats of arms of the middle Ages adorned with the courageous bee, the bee has been a divine emissary of the sacred and profound.

In fact, through the millennial, bees at one time or another have come to symbolize power, health, immortality, wisdom, valor, eloquence, and plenty.

These ready associations were not lost on demagogues such as Napoléon, who, when crowned emperor in 1804, dispensed with the traditional imperial garb in favor of a bee-studded coronation robe. However, his vision of the hive—and for his reign—was not one of community and democracy. Napoléon was seizing the grandeur of the bee for his own ends, and slyly legitimizing the occasion of his crowning—as in the hive, that there would be a monarch over all.

I am amazed by The hive’s behavior, it is like a miniature but incredibly successful business; they are an inspirational, ever-present reminder of the natural possibilities of organizational excellence and the Queen Bee raises the standards, promoting a positive culture with a strong leadership. This is the reason why I am using this analogy throughout our organisation and this is the reason why you will see our little Worker Bee buzzing around this website.

My mission as The Busy Queen Bee is inspire businesses, around the world, to thrive by delivering exceptional customer service consistently and by building strong rapports, not just for individual businesses, but for a successful economy. For, if businesses thrive by delivering exceptional customer service, the local economy will thrive too. Like those industrious insects, the bees, we all have a vital role to play.

I get a real buzz by sharing my passion with businesses and individuals to thrive in their life and hive, and achieve a prosperous and healthy life/work balance.

Bring a more feminine energy in businesses

I bring a more feminine way to do business, the queen bee is the centre of her community without her the hive wouldn’t exist and what I bring to business is refocusing on what make a business exists, the internal and external customers. I empower business owners/leaders to do business with a more feminine energy, by caring, supporting, nurturing first, for their employees and for their customers.

Building strong rapport with all stakeholders and being authentic will naturally lead to increase in sales. They will thrive in their own hive by guiding their employees through the journey just like the queen bee guides the hive in a more feminine intuitive, creative and inspiring way at an emotional level.

What else do I do?

I am a board member of the Mystery Shopper Providers Association (MSPA) and a member of  The Institute of Customer Service, and on the committee of the States of Jersey Complaints Panel.

I was presented with the Director of the Year Award in 2014, for a Small Business, by The Institute of Directors, Jersey Branch. And was also a finalist in the Small and Medium Sized Enterprise of the Year Award, at the Jersey Business Award for Enterprise in 2014. And this year have been shortlisted for the Forward Ladies, Women in Business Awards 2016, in the Retail Category.

I will inspire you to thrive in your business by bringing a more feminine energy in your business. Caring, valuing and creating strong rapport with your internal and external customers at an emotional level.
